So, I had this dream the other night. I think I was like back in college or something. It must have been because I had a back pack. Anyways, I was walking down a highway and I saw this big charter bus pulled off to the side. There was a guy sitting on the ground. As I approached, I saw it was Gene Wilder dressed as Willy Wonka. I thought this is cool as shit! I love Willy Wonka! I got to get his autograph! But what should I get him to sign? Man! I've got a box of Nerds in my backpack! How cool would that be? Getting Gene Wilder's autograph on a Willy Wonka product while he's dressed as Willy Wonka! He was a real nice guy and gave me the autograph. I couldn't wait to tell everyone.... then it got fuzzy and I eventually woke up. Thats all I got. I don't know what it means other than I think what a great obscure autograph to have.

They're coming boys and girls. October 23rd. I cannot stress anymore, again, if you have not seen them, go. Its the most energy you'll ever see in a show.
I love train beats and train songs.
Scott Miller & the Commonwealth... he kicks my ass. Former lead man of the defunct V-Roys. Upside Downside is a killer cd. Amtrak Crescent and Angels Dwell are the best tunes on there. Just though I'd share.

Wow.... Farmfest rocked. I think I got the Drunk Okie Award for that show. Even poured a little Boones out for my homies. Got quite a bit of video from the acts. As soon as I add lightning, earthquakes, and smoke, I'll post up some clips. Came back Sunday fo Chad's surprise birthday party. I've never been to one. It was pretty cool with all the anticipation right before he and Beth walked in. Lot's of good backyard music and coversation that evening. Now, I gotta be prepared to be at the Dirty Dog this Wednesday cuz these people and definetly THESE people (be careful clicking on this link at work, now). Get your cameras charged up!

Who's up for a little road trip tomorrow down to Chilicot.... Chilectho..... Chillicothe, TX for a little Farmfest action. That sounded dirty. A little McClure.... a little Texas Jack.... gonna be a good time. So.... "Open the door, bring on the women. Go to the ice box, and get me a beer. Start your fire on the cooker, get your chili ready. Cause before you know it, it’s gonna be tomorrow night."

So, Whitney got me thinking about people who are afraid of flying. I guess I could never understand that since I love to be soaring through the air. I've always wanted to be a fighter pilot but the Air Force isn't too keen on blind people flying their planes. They said I could work on the planes but what fun is that if you don't get to test your handy work. I have a cousin that was a commercial airline pilot and he had his own piper cub. That plane rocked. He gave me the controls for like a minute and it was pretty exhilarating. Sure, when a plane crashes your more likely to die than in a car crash. But, your more likely just to be in a car crash anyway.

This is one of the funniest commercials I've seen in a while. Part of the "don't let this happen to you" crowd.

Petting zoos, pig races, bear and alligator shows, and these guys (who we ALMOST went to see last night). I'm sure it would've been cooler than that "Poor and Stupid" show at the Dog last night. Oh well, come out and be redeemed at The Dog tonight for the legendary Oklahoman Gary P. Nunn. Heading to Stillwater tomorrow for the game. Gonna watch it at Dirty Dog. They have free wireless internet and NTN Gaming now. That's a pretty cool deal. Sunday, its back to OKC for the best tribute band around.

Here's some music info for ya I brought back from Austin.
#1: Whenever I go down there, I grab a copy of the Chronicle and start tearing through it to see who's playing. I usually look for people I've seen or heard of and see who's playing with/opening for them.... you know, to check out the new kids on the block (pun very intended). One band kept popping up I've never heard of. The Greencards. I had no idea what kind kind of music they played but apparently people like them. So, on my regular trip to Waterloo I picked up their cd, threw it in, and heard some kick ass (i mean really kick ass) bluegrass music. So, i tottled on over to their website and found out Keen agrees as well. I suggest checking them out.
#2: Got a copy of the Stragglers new cd. We've been waiting for this one for some time. I gotta tell ya its worth the wait. I usually don't make comments on the bands I'm biased towards but let me tell ya.... go get this cd.... and when you play it, you will lose all control of your bowels. Yes, it is "shit your pants" good. Except for the "burhur" factor of a couple of songs :-) .... the album is flawless. Best one ever. Listen kids... I know. Every damn song is a sing-a-long. "Radio" being my favorite.
#3 Ted is a sound engineer down in Austin and the band he's working with now, Podunk, played last Saturday at Momo's. I'd first heard of them years ago when I listed to a lot of Cadillac Voodoo Choir. A couple of guys in the band used to play for the Choir so it was kinda cool to finally see them after all these years. Good clean rock 'n' roll is the best way to describe them. Tons of energy and very seasoned performers.
Damn, thats a big blog.... oh well, have fun with it.

So, over the weekend I helped dig a hole and install a new water hydrant, trample through 7 ft. sunflowers to see what it takes to tear down a windmill, and cut out old high guage fence panels to make into ivy crawlers.... yeah. I'm not one for manual labor. Mowing the grass and taking out the trash is about as labor intense as I get. But its pretty cool, cuz all the thing I know I'll do with my father-in-law is going to be something I've never done. Its like "city boy" hangs out with "farm boy". I have ideas/plans on how to do a task and he has the braun. Its like a Pet Shop Boys song. Now pardon me while I massage Ben-Gay on my legs and arms back to health.

So, I'm working on a design for the "Elementary Educators of Tomorrow" at OSU and they want elements of classroom teaching tools. I can't help but think of the big pink eraser I used to get and the smell of it. I may go buy one to keep with me and whenever I want to go back to like, 4th grade, I can just take it out of my pocket and get a big ole whiff..... then get a real bad headache..... just like old times.
