Namedropping with Rue McClanahan
So, Hollywood has posted station six blocks from our house. They are filming a movie, The Killer Inside Me. The movie was originally written as a novel by an Okie, Jim Thompson. A movie was even made in '76 with Stacy Keach. So, technically, this is a remake I guess. Anyway,it stars with Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson, Casey Affleck, and Simon Baker. They are filming not six blocks down from our house. Part of the highway is closed and people have to detour during the afternoon. Pre-production is being set up now. Actual filming begins Monday. I was thinking of strolling on down there to see how close I can get. I was wondering who I could possibly name-drop to get by Hollywood muscle. My repertoire is pretty shallow when it comes to Tinsel Town Big Wigs. Remotely all I have are Loudon Wainwright III, Lou Diamond Phillips and my big gun Rue McClanahan. Come on. She and I grew up in Ardmore. Even graduated from the same high school. Her folks lived across the street from one of my friends. You know who I think I am??? Hook a brotha up. Yeah, so we'll see.

Making Todd's "Greatest Hits"
Before there were ipods, itunes and hard drives no bigger than 3gb we had to make our own mix cds. So when we got our first 4x cd burner in the late 90's for our office for "archiving", we figured out how to use Toast to import tracks and burn custom audio cd's. This was when Todd Snider only had 3 albums out; Songs for the Daily Planet, Step Right Up and Viva Satellite. Well, going through my archives here and consolidating my digital life, I came across the artwork we would make for the cds. Here now is the one I made for the Best of Todd Snider

The song list still holds true today. Although with the more recent albums, it would probably be a three disc set. Anyway, just thought I'd share.
