Sweetwebsite Best of..... tomorrow..... top cd's...... top live shows..... I hope everyone has tickets to the show. I heard it was sold out. 10,000 tops are supposed to be in attendance. First 10,000 in the door get in free. You better have your little piece of bandwidth ready to see all the honorees.
This is my "new and improved" iBook. I consider it "new and improved" cuz I recently maxed out my memory and for Christmas got this sweet face-lift from Macskinz.

The flames make my computer at least 4X as fast... at least! Whenever you put flames on anything, it makes it faster. God I love Apple.... the company.... not the fruit.

OK, let's see here... I was thinking about something. New Years Eve is on a Wednesday.... its at the Bricktown Wormy Dog..... Wormy Dog has free beer during South Park on Wednesdays..... Comedy Central has six episodes of South Park airing New Years Eve and THEN showing the South Park Movie..... wonder if its free beer all night...... I doubt it, but it was funny thinking about it.

I love Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Just watched an episode with Glen "Fuckin'" Danzig. He set up blood sprinklers in front of Carl's house. That shit is funny. Saw an episode too one time where Zakk "Fuckin'" Wylde was a guest. All I remember was him playing with some mechanical scorpions and saying "What the fuck is this shit?" He cracked me up. I swear its one of the funniest cartoons ever.
This Christmas rocked. I guess Santa thought I was pretty good. My computer got a face-lift, I got some Ghost Rider comics (the first appearance) and some much needed duds. Yay for me. Melisa is out in Virginia visiting her sister til next Sunday, so I get to play rock star for a while. :-) Last night at the Bricktown Dog rocked. Lots of Stillwater people were out. Chad played all night and had a great crowd. He got a brand fuckin' new Dodge truck. It kicks much ass. He must know some kind of persuasive angle in letter writing to Santa. Beth, Rex, Burt, Shelby, Trisha, Joanna and Heather all made an appearance. Good time were had by all. Even finished off a bottle of Tuaca (there were just two shots left in it but it still made me fell good). Gotta work the next two days then its time to start the real partyin'. Talkin' to people last night, it sounds like New Years is gonna be packed ass at the Dog. 15 bucks for four bands in Bricktown is about the cheapest deal around with top notch entertainment. Saturday is the big road trip to Fayetteville with Badwater and Texas Jack. Kevin is supposed to be back from Idaho today. Sounded like he had a great time up there. That's all for an update now. I'll post some more shit tomorrow. It seems right now I can't get away from my playstation...... must..... kill..... everyone......

Had a nice little Christmas Party last night with some friends at the ole Belle Isle Brewery. I don't think we've been there since last New Years. Teddy P., Kevin, Jamie, Whitney, Ashly, Robert, Jeff, Andy, Nate... Jager Bombs, Jack, Coke (acola), Beer, Smokes.... all showed up and had a good time. Going to spend Christmas with Melisa's family this year. Heading out to her parents this evening then on to the big town of Wakita, OK. You the film Twister was filmed there with that guy Billy Bob Paxton and that girl Helen Degeneres. That was a good movie right there. Anyways, going to take 'er easy today at work. Maybe play a little Unreal or something. All I know is that when Friday rolls around there will be a small gathering at the Bricktown Wormy Dog to swap Christmas stories and the planning of next weeks big party. No band is playing so we'll have to actually make conversation amongst ourselves. Should be pretty interesting.

Well shit! Another little update here. Looks like I will be going to Fayetteville on January 3rd. Badwater AND Texas Jack at Dave's on Dickson. R U kinddin' me???..... no I'm not. I'm takin' the official SweetWebsite Van if anyone wants to rock star it out with me.
Well, holy shit... looks like all our boys are going to be International Rock Stars. Sorry for the expletive but that is rock 'n' fuckin' roll people.
Had a random Stillwater night last night. Matt and I decided to hit the Original Wormy Dog for a little happy our action. They still have the best happy hour around here.... even though it looked like nobody else knows it. $1 longnecks 5-7. So, we proceed to get as drunk as possible in two hours. Jerry Payne even came out and joined us for the evening. It was good to hang with him. Haven't got to in a while. Sounds like No Justice's show is really kicking ass now. Saturday should be killer and of course New Years is gonna be one crazy ass party. Matt ended up having to drop some stuff off at the Elks Lodge and he went home while it appeared Jerry and I weren't drunk enough to go home yet. So, we went down to Willies for some hard liquor. They are re-doing the outside of the bar. Looks like it will be pretty cool. Anyways, going to deliver the "Damn the Man" shirts to Eric at the Bricktown Dog tonight. Don't think we'll be staying out though. Get to do the whole "Family Thing" tomorrow.
Thursday, December 18, 2003
Shit... why am I always the last to know that Texas Jack is playing at the Dog. Everytime I find out I always gotta be somewhere else. They're helping No Justice "Free Eric" Saturday night as well.

Be sure to come out this Saturday to the Bricktown Dog for the "Free Eric: Damn the Man" show with No Justice and get your limited edition Wormy Dog Good Mornin' Judge T-Shirt. Better get one fast cuz they may not last! No more rhyming, I mean it.... anybody want a peanut?
Wednesday, December 17, 2003
Generation Rock Radio has got to be the coolest internet radio station ever. They play old school and new school rock. Hell, right now they're even playing an etire album of Dio, "Lock Up the Wolves". Got to hear some Poison and even some Damn Yankees, Aldo Nova, Dr. Hook, the list goes on and on. Check 'em out.

So, Matt's been on the phone with Dell trying to buy Julie a new computer up here at work. He's been on the phone for a good 15 minutes now trying to figure out what all the computer has or doesn't have networking and sound wise. Apparently they are really vague on what a computer comes with. They flash all these "really low" prices but little do people know its for a computer that that doesn't have an ethernet card or even a fucking sound card! Come on! I figure all that shit should be standard now. Maybe a little extra for wireless. We've come to the conclusion buying a Windows machine is bullshit and hereby telling everyone to buy a Mac. Once you buy it, you won't need a sound card, ethernet card, or even speakers. People talk about how expensive Macs are. Well when you buy all that other shit, it ends up costing the same. We look at the four models of each type of Mac computer be it iMac, PowerMac, or laptop and basically pick how fast or big you want to go...thats it. We know it will network with anything anywhere. The Dell computer started at $1264 but is now over $1700 with all the "extras" we need. Just goes to show, you get what you pay for.
I know there's been a lot of talk about SweetWebsite's Top Ten CD's of 2003. Well, I have to tell you, the entire staff here has been working around the clock to come up with the top cd's based on album sales, radio play and requests. Our employee's are tireless. They stop at nothing to provide you with the most accurate of information on this site..... that's why I fired them. Sometime before New Years, I will bring MY personal Top Ten CD's of 2003. Make no mistake. This Top Ten will be pure fact as it is my opinion. When I post the list of these great albums, you will have approximately ONE WEEK, to have them in your possession or you will spontaneously combust, be molested by aliens (or Michael Jackson), or sit on a thumbtack and slowly bleed to death in the near future. Behold the prophecy as my word is the law! Have a great day!

Now, I'm not usually big on pet videos, but this one is pretty damn good. Maybe its because Barney looks like Duncan. If you want to see how Scotties act take a look at this video
Up To The Minute Red Dirt News Update of the News Now First!
Shooter Jennings was on Kid Rock's Christmas Special last night. That was pretty cool. Went to check the Eli & Young Band Saturday night at the Bricktown Dog and they kick some ass. Lots 'o' people got out and shook their butts to the groove. New Years Eve at the Bricktown Dog will be $15 per person and get this! $30 per couple! Wow what a deal! I'd go with the couple discount if I were you. Plus!.... Your first beer is on the house! It looks like it will be the place to be if you're in Oklahoma. The line-up is the WD-Allstars, Badwater, No Justice and Mike McClure Band. We're finishing up the t-shirt design as we speak. Ads will start running in the Gazette next week and I'll be posting them around other places as well with the full info. There will be pre-sale prices too. I also updated my Hooch section (if you know where to look). Got some Christmas songs from Bob Schneider, George Devore, Ian Moore, and Reckless Kelly. Check 'em out! Oh, and it looks like we caught Saddam. That's all for now in the Up To The Minute Red Dirt News Update of the News Now First!

These guys crack me up all the time. Just goes to show you there are some witty sonsabitches out there.
Big unveiling today sometime. Just waiting for the go ahead. Scrubs is one funny ass show. I hope to get to go to the Bricktown Dog tonight for Stoney and Texas Jack.... weather permitting. Guess I could stay on the Dog's couch. Wonder what my van will handle like in snow. Should've got an all wheel drive model..... nah cost more and it would drain the middle east of its fuel supply. Wonder what I am doing tomorrow.... just some random thoughts.
Thursday, December 11, 2003
I think I'm going to dream in html tonight. I can see it now.... [a href="raganflying" target="_sky"]. I'm about to go crazy looking at all this code. Anyone that know html, post your dreams here in code.... could be interesting. Don't make it exact code though. You'll morph the comments page into some weird script that will kill the internet or something.

Looks like we finally get some good live music in Guthrie tonight. Jake and Kevin at JC's Tavern starting at 8. After party at our house! Well, maybe.... we'll see. Matt started on the Bricktown Wormy Dog New year's Eve shirt design. It's gonna be good. Funnier than hell too. That's all I got... for the pot.... in the lot.... like a tot..... for a robot.... stop me before I'm caught.

Whew! Man, I actually had to do work yesterday and a little bit this morning. Apparently Morrison won the Oklahoma Class B State Championship in football and they wanted t-shirts..... so did the Tonkawa Jazz band and Drumright Elementary. Gotta love the small school shirt designs. They crack me up cuz they won't let you put any creativity into the layout. You gotta do exactly what's on the paper.... and its usually pretty damn "3rd grade" if you will. This last weekend kicked ass. Stragglers on Friday at the Weed kicked much ass. Had to wish them a Happy Christmas cuz it looks like we won't see them again before then. Stoney played with them all night. He's gonna kick ass this Friday at the Dog with his make shift band. We'll definitelty be in attendance for that show. Maybe he should call it Stoney LaRue and the Make Shifts....damn I'm good. Most of us got completely torn down that night. Seems to always happen around them. Even saw an old friend Ben Crooch. He lives around Chicago, used to play with anyone and everyone in Stillwater. Sounded like he's doing well, playin' some gigs and workin'. Good to see some of our music go North instead of South. Saturday ruled at the Bricktown Dog. Kevin Miller Tibute played. Sounded a little rusty though. They haven't been on the road in years so its ok. Sunday, played games and changed the oil in my van. I hope Jake and Kevin play tomorrow in Guthrie. Jake said they were gonna play at JC's Tavern which is basically right down from our house. Watched the new Battlestar Galactica last night. That show is bad to the bizzone. The new Cylons kick ass. Sorry for goin' geeky there, but I used to watch that show growing up. Gotta catch it the rest of the week though. Its like two hours a night all this week. Anyway, back to making Johnny 3rd grad shirts.

Here's a test run of what I've been working on this week. Remember, it doesn't all work yet. Hope everyone has a rock ass weekend! I know mine will be.
Had a good time last night at the Univeristy Spirit Christmas Party at the Stillwater Country Club. Only had two drink maximum during dinner but those drinks were real nice there, Clark. Some killer mexican food was fed to us. Les Miles even poked his head in to say hi. Matt invited everyone down to the Elks Lodge and thats where the real drinking began. Good times, good times. What's cool is it closes at midnight so you don't have to get completely messed up for another two hours.
Heading to the Weed tonight for the Stragglers. I got a big box of panties to give them. Tomorrow its back to the Bricktown Dog for the Kevin Miller Tribute Band.

Last night was about what I expected. The Yuletide Magical Mystery Tour that is..... I only dozed off a couple of times. Luckily I didn't snore. Went to the Bricktown Dog to hang posters for the next couple of weeks. Saw Grady out. Sounded like he had fun hangin' Christmas lights while he's been in town. Had a couple of beers and we headed home. Looks like there may be one big ass show in February at the Bricktown Dog and it will be on a weekday. I don't want to hear any bitchin' or moanin' either cuz if this show comes to light, I suggest takin' the next day off of work or at least go in late. Stay tuned!
Wednesday, December 3, 2003
I like Toby Keith... there I said it. Watched all his Dan Rather interviews on CMT last night. He kicks ass. I may not like his music enough to buy it but it works.... hell, its funny and he knows it. Plus he doesn't take shit off anyone and won't back down. I like that. He's like the Kid Rock of country. Its better than those beat-offs like Quick Flaw McGraw and Kenny Chestnuts or whatever their names are. I'll probably get a few comments on this, but he even reminds me of Boland when he does interviews.
OK, so I have to go to some Yuletide Merry Santa Claus Hoppin' Down the Magic Trail Christmas Sing-A-Long Yodeling Show at the Civic Center in OKC and its opening night. Oh boy, I get to dress up. I can't wait. At least its close to downtown so I can get to the Dog fairly quickly after its over so I can recover some of my coolness. Tomorrow is our store Christmas Party at Stillwater Country Club. Those are always fun except this year, we are limited to two drink tickets per person. I'm sure I will want to have more. As far as music is concerned for this week, its the first of, what I hope to be many, PENNY BEER at the Bricktown Dog. Wade Bowen will be playing there as well. They kick some serious ass. I won't be able to make because of the afore mentioned Christmas Party. Friday night though, we'll be hitting the Weed in Stillwater for the Stragglers show. Probably be the last time we'll see the boys before the holidays so I figure we'd go wish them a Merry One. Saturday its back to the Bricktown Dog to see the Jake Moffat Band / WDAS. Yeah I'm busy the rest of the week so I don't want to hear it.
Tuesday, December 2, 2003
Well, here are some shots of our house with all the work we put into it for the holidays. Melisa did the inside while I, of course, did the outside. The sides and front of the house weren't so bad but I was scared as shit getting on the roof. I haven't done that since high school and I'm not quite as agile as i used to be. So, with Melisa calling me a pussy and threatening to put up the lights herself, I reluctantly climbed on top. It just scares me now that I know I have to do it again to take the lights down.

Got some great shots of Badwater from Saturday night but I forgot my camera at home. I finally got to meet the new members Garron and Travis too. Those guys are great. The entire band has a new and impoved kick assedness about them. Go here and BUY! BUY! BUY!. Looks like I'll be working with them on a website. So stay tuned for the future unveiling!
On a side note. If you're in a band and there is a radio spot of an upcoming show.... make sure they don't tell the fans what song not to yell out or call them "losers" if they do. Yeah, that's cool.

Sweet! Finally back home with internet! Oh how I missed you! Lovely internet... how have you been? Well, Bret Michaels kicked complete ass Tuesday night. Me, Jason, and Melisa had a full on rock out goin' on. Wednesday I got my shower drain unplugged so I can now shower again. Its been clogged for bout two weeks and I stink. Thursday morning we trekked down to Ardmore for the family Thanksgiving at my Grandma Pakerson's. Then over to Mom's that night and today had another Thanksgiving meal. My cousin Elizabeth and her husband Scott came down from Tulsa. It always cool to see them. So we're back home in Guthrie now. I brought back a ladder and a new charcoal grill that's freakin' huge so we can party now! The ladder is for the Christmas lights I'm putting on the house tomorrow. It should be interesting. Then for Saturday night its off to the ole Bricktown Dog for the "new" Badwater show. Its should rock balls. Bobby kicks ass. Later on my fans!
Tuesday, November 25, 2003
I'm about sick of everyone copying the iron cross design for West Coast Choppers, and even Haley Davidson designs for like high schools and shit. On the other hand.... man they are super easy to design.
Bret Michaels tonight! We're gonna get crazy at the Brewery. Then tomorrow the plumber fixes our clogged drain. rock.

Ok, did everyone bring your note pads and pencils? Good. Ya'll better take some good notes. Here is a list of the people I had the pleasure of meeting and even having "a couple" of beers with. Joe Quesada, Skottie Young, Mike Turner, Everyone at Devil's Due . These guys kick ass. Sherard Jackson at Antarctic Press, Marc Silvestri, writer Paul Jenkins, and a buttload more. You can read about the convention at Wizard Universe but of course we had more fun at the Wyndham Hotel Bar actually shooting the shit and crackin' jokes with them all. Even ran into Jason Mewes for a bit.
Remember people.... tomorrow night is Bret Michaels at the Bricktown Brewery. You better be ready to party balls.

So, there was like twice the fucking people there today than yesterday. Saw a Q&A with Jim Lee. He kicks ass. He lives in fucking Italy now. Couldn't get anything signed by him from all the ass-tards wanting to meet him. All the guys we partied with last night at the Wyndham had to put on a straight face for today. Yeah, last night was incredible. Quesada, Tuner, Silvestri, Jenkins. Hangin' with all that talent and getting stupid. All of them were cool as shit. We took a little break today at lunch and when we got back, guess who was out smoking a cigarette. Go on guess...... nope. It was Jason Mewes. Fuckin' A. We got out pic made with him. Tonight is Kareoke at the Wyndham bar. You pay to make the artists sing and if they don't they have to draw a sketch to be auctioned off. Its gonna be another good time I believe.
Friday, November 21, 2003
Well we made here to Arlington. Had a great party at the Dog last night. We actually closed it down. Got home at three woke up at 7 and got full on a Sonic breakfast. Yeah we'll be hitting the Convention center shortly to join our fellow geeks. Keep watching my little random pic page for crazy sightings. I'll have another update when we get back.
Thursday, November 20, 2003
Tonight there's gonna be a jail break, somewhere in this town. Tonight there's gonna be trouble...... according to Thin Lizzy. We're ready to head to Dallas tomorrow but not before we hit Bass Pro and the Bricktown Dog for the All Stars show and get plowed. You all pay attention now. Watch what goes on this weekend between here and here.
I thought about some stuff on my way to work. Here is the rundown of my train of thoughts. Be sure to keep up.......
I heard on the radio that a guy died in a vodka drinking contest at a liquor store in Russia. I think, "man, that isn't just any American vodka, that's the real shit." I believe "vodka" is the Russian word for "tequila" which is Mexican word for "whiskey" that is the American for "firewater" from the Native Americans.... whew. Then, I make a rule for the general population of the world. I guess it could be the 11th Commandment.... "Don't have drinking contests" or Thou shalt not imbibe alcohol for something offered or striven for in competition or in contests of chance".... that sounds better. Anyway, I start thinking about Russia. I kind of miss the SuperPower since its demise. The countries we worry about now are small and not very technologically advanced. We used to make bad ass movies with Russia and the KGB and stuff. One of my favorites was Clint Eastwood's "Firefox". I love all the espionage shit, especially with aircraft and top secret vehicles. All of my favorite movies and tv shows had some sort of cool vehicle. Which lead me to my list here of top tv shows/movies as I was growing up.
1. Firefox
2. Blue Thunder
3. Street Hawk
4. Knight Rider
5. Airwolf
6. Viper
7. Back to the Future
8. Herbie
..... not quite 10 but that's all I can think of now. So, there is my rundown of thoughts on my half hour drive to work this morning. Feel free to ad your favorite vehicle movies/tv shows or whatever.

Well, since Matt and I are taking off Friday to go on our awesome awesome awesome road tip, I think we'll hit the new Bass Pro Shop and give Jimmy Houston a severe cock punching then get Rick Clunn's autograph. We'll then probably hit the Bricktown Dog for the All-Stars to give Kevin a good cock punching. I hope he doesn't leave this post up for too long on his computer cuz I have the word "cock" on here like 4 times.
Oh and they're bringin' The Family Guy back. Its about fuckin' time.

Man, it's really great when a customer comes in, leaves, and you start mocking them and they come back in standing at your doorway without you noticing. "He said he wanted mleh mleh mleh and to change mleh mleh mleh..... dumbass." You try to play it off like you weren't talking about them, but they know. Great.
I don't mock ALL customers now. Just the ones with stupid ideas...... which is about all of them.

I'm sure everyone has been beating themselves up wondering where our badass roadtrip (the one I mentioned a couple of blogs ago) is going to go this Friday. Well, just when you thought I couldn't be any cooler, we get to go here. Yes friends, We're all going to our first comic book convention. Not only will I be taking some of my #1's to be signed by the artists but Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes will be there. Yeah, we are gonna party it up this weekend. Our hotel has WiFi so stayed tuned all this coming weekend for updates of our ventures. We'll be taking pics of things you've never seen before and won't want to see again. Its going to be some fun (and funny) shit.
I am font crazy. I can't not get enough fonts. I have like 3 billion. I don't use half of them, but its just good to know that I have them "just in case". Most of these fonts look really good when you type the name of the font in the actual type face... but thats it. For instance, we downloaded the "Godzilla" font. It looked really cool so we wanted it, but the only word that looks good in that font is "Godzilla". Everything else is shit. Same thing with the "Friday 13th" font. Anyway, I brought this up because we recently completed our House Industries font collection. Doing design work, I'm convinced these are the only fonts you will ever need. They kick much ass and are limitless to what you can do. I don't know. I'm just excited to have like 40 more fonts.
Had a pretty rock n roll Friday night. Julie came into town from CO to party it up for the weekend.... and when Julie drinks.... everybody drinks. When she shows up, people seem to get stupid. She rules. Anyways, Saturday was a fun filled day at OCU's Homecoming. Melisa had to be present at all the shindigs which included a pep rally, two basketball games, and an alumni reception. I got to play meet and greet with all the suits and make my presence known. We hit the dog around 7:30 afterward, but we were dead tired. Got home round 10. Laid around the next day til 3:30. Then back to OCU for Light the Campus. Even saw Ashly there. It was a pretty cool deal. Reminded me of the lighting of Utica Square in Tulsa my family and I used to go to during Thanksgiving.
Oh, and I think this was actually written for Kevin. Not to worry though. Here is what to do.
That's all for now. Later I'll talk about the really fuckin' sweet road trip Matt, Melisa and I are taking starting Friday morning. Right on.

To the Bricktown Dog in less than 5 minutes. Gonna stay til South Park is over.... well thats the plan anyway. We'll see how much drinky drinky is goin' on.
So, I was watching this Marshmallow Kid Test on TV this morning. Let me set up the premise here. They took one four year old girl, one single marshmallow, and one bag of marshmallows on a table. The girl sat in a chair while a "grown-up" told her she can have the one marshmallow right now if she wanted when he leaves the room, but if she didn't eat it, then she could have the whole bag when he got back. The guy leaves the room and for over two and a half minutes a doctor and a reporter sit and discuss what the girl is thinking. Why?..... Why? Why? Why? It sounded like they were commentating a golf match. Whispering, "What do you think she's going to do now? "She must be struggling with this one." "Why is she talking to herself?" "What the fuck?". Now, I know everyone is dying to find out what the little girl did! Guess what, she didn't eat the one marshmallow, so she got the whole bag. I watched in horror as she sat there doing nothing. Then, I found out she was the youngest of three. I guess when you have siblings, its ok to wait and get what you want and if you don't get it, its ok too. Well, being an only child, this is how it would have gone down if I sat in that chair when I was four.
Grown-up - "Ragan, if you don't eat that one marshmallow by the time I get back then you can have that whole bag!"
Me - "Right on Brother. Rock n Roll."
Grown-up - "OK then.... and if you're good I will buy you any toy you want."
Well, that last part I made up but that's how it used to be. So back to me sitting at the table. I would be sitting there wondering how I could get that whole bag right now without waiting for that smart-ass grown-up to come back in. Fuck it. I'd tear into the whole bag as soon as the door closed and start eating away. When the dude would come back in, the bag would be empty (cuz I can eat a whole bag of marshmallows in under two and a half minutes) and I'd have sticky fingers, but that one lone marshmallow, that he told me not to eat so that I could have the whole bag, would still be on the table. I didn't eat it, so technically I could have the bag. I just got a head start. What's wrong with kids these days?

Couple of thing before I leave "work" here. I read in USA Today that they questined teens on business ethics. Are business leaders ethical? 18% yes, 45%, no, 38% not sure. The age of the teens? 13-18. Are you shitting me??? How about 100% not sure. What do they know? Damn kids!
Oh and on anothe note, can't we just have guy stuff anymore? Stay out of our garage! Its about as sacred as our bathroom!

Well it was a tough decision but early reports according to Variety.com says that Elizabeth Smart beat out Jessica Lynch in ratings. Where's your patriotism people?!? I mean, come on. Apparently we turned all religious and stuff now and seem more interested in crazy people. I guess "war heroes" are out. She was a hero right? She killed many of Iraqis didn't she? Oh wait the people whos rescued her are the heros and killed Iraqis. OK. Anyway, Homer did beat them all at number one.

Ok, this has got to be the coolest thing ever. Everyone take note... I want this for Christmas. I know everyone can pool together and get it for me. Maybe as a wedding gift for the newlyweds to live?
So, the Red Dirt Music Awards were yesterday. I hope they went ok. I didn't go. Why?
1. Because it was on a Sunday. Bad deal. When I get around all those guys I tend to drink beer and I gotta work on Monday. Plus it'd be over a two hour drive to my house.
2. It was in Tulsa. I don't know why. Didn't they just have the Spotniks like a month ago? A Lot of the Red Dirt Awards people were already recognized. I think they should have had it elsewhere...... oh, say Stillwater? OKC? a central location?
3. I don't think Red Dirt should have awards. I always thought this whole deal was "anti-awards". Now, I dig the Gruene with Envy Awards. Its cool to get recognition in a different market. Plus, its cool that Oklahoma can take over Texas. :-) I know the voting is based on the musicians and not the public, but I don't think I would want to make Bob, Tom, Cody, Jason, Mike, Stoney and all the other guys choose who is better than who or who has done more. Everybody was treated equally when all this started. It's cool that everyone got together for this deal. I just think it should be more of a festival like LJT's. I'm tellin' ya people. If we had an Oklahoma Music Festival, it'd be bigger than Woodstock. One of the biggest jam sessions ever. I don't know about anyone else, but I want music, not awards.
Anyways, It looked to be a pretty big production to get everyone at one place because that'd be a shitload of work. I hope it was cool and everyone enjoyed themselves. I know there were people there that haven't seen each other in a while..... and maybe there was a little old school jammin' goin' on in the motel rooms afterwards. I always heard great songs from those times. Keep on rockin'/truckin'.

I just to take a moment and give a shout out to the boys from Texas Jack. They were kind enough to mail me a cd, since in my drunken stooper on Halloween night, I forgot to pick one up. Its got some great tunes on there folks. Good shit. Keep on kickin' balls guys!
1 more hour of work and I'm going home, sitting on my ass, and doing a little catching up on my PS2. This last week's about killed me.
Let's go ahead and make this a Battle Royale... Elizabeth Smart vs. Jessica Lynch. Place your votes in the comments area below this post. Then for the official ruling, we'll let the almighty Nielsen Family choose the victor. Mormon vs. Soldier. We'll see who America cares about more. This ought to be good.

This Sunday is the big showdown between Jessica Lynch and Elizabeth Smart on Network TV. OH which one will win?!?! What will I watch??? These stories that have captivated the Nation! I know... I'm not watchin' either one. They're stupid. People that want to rake in the cash for "their story".... dumb dumb dumb. I know the story. I watched the news. I don't need a fucking TV Movie about it. I'll stick to watchin' King of the Hill and The Simpsons. Now that's good programming.

It seems I had to upgrade my web hosting account. SweetWebsite has outgrown itself (if thats possible). Anyways the "boob pics" are finally up. So. please, everyone enjoy the moments of one of the craziest weekends we've ever had. Thanks to all the people that visit this little site of mine (I'm gonna let it shine). yeah word up.
I guess somebody bought out 96.9 The Bull out of OKC. Peckers. I'm going to start my own radio station a la' Pump Up The Volume. What a great movie. Another note.... saw a commercial Saturday night I thought might have been an SNL skit. It couldn't be real... no way. Why? Its too good to be true.
Happy November to all my peeps! Wow, what a crazy weekend. Hope everyone had a happy Day of the Dead yesterday. I myself was pretty dead.... dead tired! hahaha burhur... but I digress. It seems as if I got to be a rock star Friday night and Kevin got his chance Staurday. Let's see, where to start... oh I know! Friday night, Halloween, Melisa and I get all dressed up to head to Bricktown. We hit the Wormy Dog full fuckin' throttle. The night's music started with Swamp Donkey. I gotta say, that's one of the best band names I've heard. Texas Jack then took the stage by the time we were getting completely hammered. Everyone (well, not "everyone") was dressed up in nutty costumes tearin' it up. Those boys from Texas Jack can throw a party. I have the best time with them and not just because they let me take the stage with them and my ukulele to sing Talk Dirty to Me. Thanks guys for letting me have my moment to shine (other than kareoke). Melisa and I even won "best couple costume" and got tickets to a Blazers game. Rock. I also believe there was some boob signing and nipple showing as well. I'm tellin' ya....crazy stuff. We close the bar down and head home to rest for Bedlam!
The game sucked. The Sooners smoked our ass.... but we still drank beer. Heard a guy say "Yeah, it was cool that the Sooners could beat the 8th grade Jr. High team we sent out to play." I agree. Gotta love the Cowboy Spirit. Later, we had to make a quick run to the liquor store for the bar to get some sweet n sour. It seems there's a guy there that orders Cabo Wabo Tequila Margaritas by the pitcher and they ran out of the mix. So, we do that, then head back to Guthrie to let the dog out and rest for an our, then head back to the Dog for The Great Divide. The Wormy Dog All-Stars open the show. Then the Divide packed them in. Biggest crowd yet I've seen down there. They put on one hell of a set. We didn't quite close the bar down but we left at 1. Apparently, there was some events that ensued. I won't go into detail but I will go off on a small rant here. If the cops have to pull out a book to try and bust people for something, that's ridiculous. That's like a surgeon going in to an operation with an instruction manual and trying to find other things to do just because he wants to show what an "authority" he is. If you don't know what you're going in for in the first place, don't go in at all. That makes you look stupid. I hate when some cops pull the punk card and no one is really doing shit wrong.
There.... I'm done. A butt-load of pics from the weekend will come later today. I'm tellin' ya, crazy stuff man.

I fuckin' love Halloween. Its one of the partyin'est days other than New Years. People that dress up make it a fun day. Then goin' out to our regular spots at night, it just makes me drink a little more hard. Wormy Dog Halloween has always been fun. This will be the first one at the Bricktown Dog though. Looks like it will live up to the standards. I better see some damn costumes!
Ragan's Golden Rule for Halloween: "Do not dress as a terrorist for Halloween." Follow this rule and everyone will be safe.

That's what I'm talkin' bout. Oh and Boland and the boys are at the Brewery. I'm sure we'll be covering all the bases for the evening. Speaking of bases, not many people covered free beer at South Park Wednesday night. I'm a little disappointed. I thought everybody was all about it. I guess I'm the only trooper. I love to drink beer and watch cartoons... who doesn't?
Congratulations to Shane and Loren Zerr for they have found out they will soon have another occupant in their household! The arrival is scheduled to be a couple of weeks after our wedding. Crazy stuff man. All we old schoolers are growing up..... except me (and Kevin I guess). I'm still a Toys R Us kid. Word up. Rock on guys!

So, I was playin' around on iTunes lookin' for some new music. Well, I found it. And if you've seen the iPod/iTunes commercials on tv then you've heard one of their songs. I'm talkin about the band Jet. A little band from Melbourne. I immediately started banging my head and doing the rock hand sign... I even almost got up and danced. I suggest everyone go get that cd too and rock out with me. See everyone at South Park = Free Beer at the Bricktown Dog tonight.
Check out these little movies taken by NASA of the big ass solar flare that hit us earlier. Crazy shit. Over and Out.

Yeah, I was dickin' with my computer all day yesterday learning all the new bells and whistles. Its the whistles! I should get back to random postings now. My first of the day..... As I was driving to work coming into Stillwater on 51, I saw where a Suburban completely ate the ass off of a Toyota. Makes me glad I drive a large vehicle. Nobody could eat the ass off my van.... except for maybe a Kenworth. Ta-dow!!

I've got a fever.... and the only prescription is Panther! We just ordered our copy today and we'll get it Monday! Party.
Yes, it will be another evening of thrills, chills, and beer spills tonight at the old B-Dog. The Wormy Dog Allstars are opening for McClure and his bunch. Good times. And being at the original Dog last night here in Stillwater makes me appreciate the new one that much more. Maybe I'm growing up or getting old. I mean, its still cool to hang there and stuff. The atmosphere is still there. Especially the atmosphere of the men's room where the sink is backed up and used as an ash tray, the toilet that doesn't flush and used as a butt receptacle in more ways than one, and the the sweet urinal trough with no running water. Oh it's heavenly. I used to never bat an eye at that saying, "if you don't like it, tough. that's the Wormy Dog." Now, not so much. In Bricktown, I can hang in the bathroom all night (not that I actually would). Let me paint a picture of this epitome of restroom goodness. Six individual urinals with fresh cakes resting at the bottom emmitting the finest urinal cake oder I've ever smelled before. I believe five toilets with "privacy curtains" for those special moments. Six clean sinks with hot and cold water. There's even soap! On the wall, a paper towel dispenser with a trash can underneath. Last but not least, a timed air freshener spray that keeps me coming back for that fresh mountain scent. And guess what people... they all work! It's amazing when you have these commodities, guys actually use them. I have no idea why I started talking about bathrooms. Maybe I'll talk about kitchens or lawnmowers next time.

Looks like we get to party at The Original Wormy Dog for a little happy hour action today. See what ole Stillwater still has to offer during the weekdays.
I had a good drive down to the Bricktown Wormy Dog last night. I took Broadway from Guthrie to Bricktown cuz its a little more scenic than I-35, plus Broadway goes right by our house so I consider the bar to be right down the street from me, even though its 30 miles away. It was one of those Oklahoma fall evenings when you drive up and down the rolling hills, there is like a ten degree temperature drop at the bottom. I love sticking my arm out the window and feeling that and the damp smell like fresh rain. It rocked. You don't get to feel that very often and get to pay attention to it. Then I showed up at the Dog and got drunk. If you ever go there and Nathan Cross is bartending, order a bilge pump. One of the best drinks I've ever had and it actually looks like algae coated water from the bottom of a boat. Good stuff.

I finally put up pics from last Friday. It was crazy stupid with people in Stillwater with Homecoming. I just gotta say Hurricane Jane is one kick ass band. They all seem to be pretty seasoned musicians and have a cool groove rock sound to them. Check out their website and look at their bios. Then, I'm going to tell you to go see their show. There will be no disappointments I assure you. As for Stoney's show...... I believe its the best I've seen. That little sumbitch rocked out like a Lionel Ritchie song...... all night long. Donnie put on one helluva show along with him. Rock on guys it was sure good to see you. Anyways, thats all for now. I'm ready for a beer.
Well I think I'm about all caught up now. Got a couple of projects I have to finish today. Work on some advertising for the Bricktown Dog and a Halloween poster for Texas Jack. That weekend is gonna be a party. The Great Divide is playing there on the first too. Gonna hit the Bricktown Dog tonight for a little beer action. So if anyone feels like getting stupid and contagious for any reason, then come on out. Looks as is if Kevin will make an appearance as well.

Sorry for the abscence yesterday (not that anyone noticed), but I had a not so happy family event to attend yesterday. Today, I get to play catch up! Yay! I love trying to get things done in record time! I have pics from last Friday's Homecoming floats and Stoney's show. Don't know when they'll be up but I'm sure sometime this week. Oh well, at least I'm back in the saddle now and bustin' ass!

Well, its OSU's Homecoming this weekend here in Stillwater. Its always a party. Melisa and I are going to do the float "walkaround" this evening and then we'll probably check Hurricane Jane and Stoney at the Wormy Dog Concert Hall. I'm pretty excited about seeing Hurricane Jane. They have three girls in the band and I'm a sucker for chicks in rock bands. They have a certain coolness no one can touch. Homecoming weekend is always a party. Usually people come to town I haven't seen in a good while. We play Texas Tech at 2:30 tomorrow I believe. So we'll once again be back at the Original Wormy Dog to watch the game and get stupid all over again. Don't know if we'll stay for Wade Bowen that evening. We'll just have to see. Maybe Ashly and Whitney should come up here and party where were rock stars were made!
The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre starts today. We went and saw a sneak preview on Tuesday and I realized I haven't posted anything about it. This movie flat out scared the shit out of me. Mostly because of the "pain" aspect of what was happening to the people. How they died and shit. Slowly. Brought back memories from the likes of the first Hellraiser. It was predictable it most parts and sometimes people were screaming to tell the cast what to do like "Pick up the gun and shoot him dumbass!" There's a little twist in the end as well. If you liked the first Massacre, you'll dig the shit out of this one. Its a great re-visioning.

That's right.... Hell did freeze over. All you Windozzze people enjoy what we have for years now. Check it.
I know most people won't care, but Apple is releasing a Windows version of iTunes later today. It has a kick ass music store where you can download songs for $.99 and albums for like $10. The program is free. Rock. I think they will release it sometime this afternoon.

I never laughed so hard in years. I promise you, you will too. Watch these funny ass parodies of the GI Joe PSA's. I nearly pissed myself.

So.... we just got our tickets to Bret Michaels at the Bricktown Brewery for November 24. I'm not even going to begin to tell you the excitement I have. ROCK N ROLL!!!! PARTY!!!! WOOOHOOO!!!! YOU KIDDIN ME?!?!! YEAH!!!! FUCKIN' BRET MICHAELS FUCKIN' PARTY!!! WOOOOOHAHAHA!!!!... it will be pretty cool I think.

It better not rain today. I spent a good part of the day yesterday washing my van. Cars run better when they're clean. Know why? Cuz they aren't stupid, thats why. Its like after anything has a bath or shower.... they feel good. If I was all crusted up and hadn't bathed for two weeks.... my performance dwindles. Same thing with cars. Keep 'em clean and all the other preventative maintenance and they'll run forever.... only if its a GM or Nissan anyway. ****From your friendly neighborhood Mr. Goodwrench**** yeah and the pics are from the weekend too.
This weekend completely kicked ass. Spent most of our weekend at our home away from home. Friday night we caught Bleu Edmondson with a little show from the Wormy Dog AllStars as the opener. I can't tell how much my balls were rocked. Of course I probably can't tell you much of anything as I was in a sweet haze most of the weekend. Saturday, Melisa and I were up and at 'em again and back at the bar before noon to watch the OSU/Kansas St. game...... which we kicked their ass. Stayed for the first half of the OU/Texas game and saw Oklahoma once again pounding the ever lovin' shit out of Texas. Then we headed back to the house for a little power nap to prepare for the evening's festivities. Traveled back down to the Bricktown Dog about 7:30. Wow... hittin' the bar twice in one day.... right on. The Wormy Dog AllStars hit the stage again for a headlining show. This motley crew consists of Jake Moffat, Kevin Miller, and Chad Dorman. Also had a couple of special appearances by Steve Rice and Brandon Jackson. The night ruled. Jake is at the top of his game right now. Go check him out while the crowds are small. He'll be sellin' out the Ford Center before too long. Took a trip next door to the Green Door cuz we heard the drummer from Godsmack had his "side project" playing there. We got there just in time to see them load out. Party. Got some great pics of the weekend too that I'll post up sometime today. That usually helps me remember what happened.

Drunk Blog #1: Just got done watching Bleu Edmondson at WD Bricktown. Fuckin' kicks ass! Listened to Badwater's "Southern Purified" cd to and from the bar. Go get the cd any way you can. Jake, Kevin, Beth, Chad, Ashly, Whitney and whoever elese was out tonight.... you rock. I been drinkin for a good 7 hours now and I love it! Blue leader over and out.

Wow what a night. Melisa and went to the sneak preview of Kill Bill at Quail Spings AMC theater. I gotta say Tarantino has still got it goin on. The reviews were right about this flick. Its like Charlie's Angels... except that it kicks ass. He brings in the hokey aspect of some old kung fu flicks with the gore of japanimation. I see why they call it Kill Bill "Vol.1" though. At first I thought it was like a joke trying to be funny or quirky, but you'll see if you go watch it. Then we headed down to the Bricktown Dog to catch the Forty Twenty Band. We had no idea what to expect from these guys until I saw the upright bass tricked out in some wicked cool flames. They sound like a more upscale Split Lip Rayfield. Any band that plays Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" bluegrass style as their opening song is bad to the bizzone. Then, we heard Local H was playing next door at the Green Door. You probably heard of this band as they were pretty popular back in the mid to late 90's. The drummer was completely beating the shit out of his drums. Some pretty damn good rock n roll for a three piece band. We headed back over to the Dog after catching of few of their songs to finish off the night. I should have pics of last night up later today. Movies and music all in one night.... who'd a thunk it?
Thursday, October 9, 2003
This evenings adventure include 1. Going to a sneak preview of Kill Bill 2. Going to see the Forty Twenty Band at the Bricktown Dog. Pretty excited to see them. The Stragglers said they are pretty good but we'll see. Oh and.... 3. Drink beer.
Wow! Kevin has some killer old school pics up. Damn near 200 of 'em. Brought back lots of memories. Even pictures of the Second Coming of Festus Porkmeyer. Head on over to his site and check 'em out.

Oh and there is a late but great "Will Ragan Eat It Friday?" on BadassWebsite. Sorry it was late..... traffic.
Since Kevin does it, I'm going to try.
My lunchtime thoughts.... I really like chocolate chip cookies. How many gigs of porn is actually on the internet? I wonder if Matt is going to eat hotdogs for his lunch. Does Kevin need a good cock punching today? I need to get a new battery for my micro r/c car. I really want lunchtime to be two hours instead of one.
There.... ponder on that. yeah.

So, I forgot to take my camera with me on this weekend's outtings. My good camera anyway, I still had my phone camera, which is fun, but takes quite a bit more effort to post more than one pic. I gotta tell ya, Friday night was the hardest I've partied in a while and it was all because of one man, George Devore. We haven't seen him in over a year and I needed a fix. I don't want to be "the guy" that goes on and on, blah, blah.... but I will. This man is an entertainer. He just played an acoustic set opening for Micky and the Motorcars and it was nothing short of what he does even with his band. Now, I don't want to be the guy that takes out crayons and draws you a picture of how cool it was... but I will.

That about sums it up Friday. Micky and the boys kicked ass too. They contributed very well to my intoxication. Melisa and I went to IHOP afterwards.... not quite Shortcakes but it will do. As for Saturday night, I was leary on making an appearance since my state of mind was still a little hazy but I really dig Seth James cuz I really dig the blues. I flew solo too since Melisa had enough partyin' the night before. Kevin joined me for the evening although he felt about like I did. Also it was Ashly's birthday so I had more of a reason to celebrate. She and Whitney were tearin' it up. Rock on ladies! Still no pics though. I think I'm glad I didn't bring my camera. There might have been some photos that I'd dare say to be "strange" had I taken some. I did snap a few from my phone though and put them up on my slapdash page. I'm done now.

That about sums it up Friday. Micky and the boys kicked ass too. They contributed very well to my intoxication. Melisa and I went to IHOP afterwards.... not quite Shortcakes but it will do. This is a big weekend for music at the Bricktown Dog tonight is the return of George Devore with Micky and the Motorcars. George is opening acoustic and with be playing with Micky's band throughout the night. He is the only guy that can get me out and attempt to dance real hard. Tomorrow night is Seth James. He's got to be one of the badass'ne... badassin... badassedest..... well you get the picture, blues players I've ever seen. Gotta love the blues. Anyways.. I guess I gotta get some work done before I start drinkin'. Song of the day: Loverboy's "Workin' for the Weekend".

My top favorite things to do right now:
1. Watch Carnivale on HBO
2. Play Unreal Tournament 2003
3. Watch Reno 911 on Comedy Central
4. Wind up Kevin and let him go
5. Drink beer at the Bricktown Dog
The manic depression and bipolar disorder I suffer from has nothing nothing to do with it and has not affected my search.

OK, I just came across another gem of pictures. This time in the waaaaay back machine all the way to new years 1998 at the Wormy Dog Saloon in Stillwater. Cody and Grady playing acoustic. It really wasn't even too crowded..... oh those were the days. Lots of familiar faces having a good time in these snapshots. They are in the 1998 section of photos.... the last one on the list.
I've been going through many of cd's lately trying to go through old artwork to maybe finally get my artwork online and I run across some pictures I totally forgot about. They are from a little over a year ago, as in 2002. Meilsa and my housewarming party on August 17, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers on August 19, and my birthday with remede on August 21. They are some serious party pics. Take a look at them in the 2002 section of the photos. I call it "One week in August (The Lost Roll)".
Well, folks.... Ole Kevmo finally got him a camera phone. The Sony Ericsson T610. It seems the snowball does have a chance in hell. He said he should get it Thursday. Should be interesting to see what all he's gonna do with it.

I cannot remember the last time I saw a complete rainbow. I must have been around 6, I think. Saw one on the way to work this morning along I-35. It was quite a sight I must say. Tried to get a picture of the whole thing on phone but apparently I need a wide angle lens. I got half of it on my slapdash page. Don't let me forget about the sun that rose today. It completely kicked ass even with the scattered showers around. I think it may be a good week..... let's hope so.

Start off on a sad note this morning. Robert Palmer died of a heart-attack today. He music was some good shit. Power Station kicked some serious ass. Loved the ladies in his vidoes. Whats the deal with all these great entertainers dying? Its gettin' me down.
On another note.... last night was pretty cool. Grady, Robyn, and McCoy showed up for the show, even Mr. Hext made an appearance. Brandon Jenkins put on a great show as always. He brought out some old favorites..... and lets not forget about Jake who opened the show. He just rules.
"Will Ragan Eat It Friday?" may be back in overdrive later today. I'll tell you when its posted.

So, I heard this morning that Diamond David Lee Roth had to cut his fall tour short because of an accident that happened when he tried to perform a 15th century samurai move with a prop sword. It seems he hit it on something and it bounced back in his face. Which brings me to a point.... he sucks. Now, don't get me wrong. I appreciated what he did with Van Halen and he introduced me to Steve Vai and all... but now??? Give it up dude. He was never that cool. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen him pick up a guitar, that arrogant asshole. Thats why I've always dug the Red Rockers stuff. He had a great career before Van Halen and when he joined Van Halen, they're still one of the best bands I've ever heard. They fused their two sounds together and (I thought) were unstoppable. It pissed me off when Sammy left, but he is still kickin' so much ass right now its crazy. I saw the Sammy and Dave concert last year and Sammy opened and completely ruled... Dave got out there and sounded like complete shit. All he does is run around jumping up and down like "look at me! look at me and how I can do the splits!" Sammy has at least always had substance and style. I mean look at him... he's as close to "rock star" image as you can get (other than Lenny Kravitz). That sums it up for me. Sammy rules and Dave doesn't. Rock on.
PS.... Summer Nights is one of the greatest songs ever written from the best Van Halen album ever, 5150.

Kick ass night of music tonight. Jake Moffat and Brandon Jenkins at Bricktown Dog. Melisa is having her farewell from OMRF party there right around 5 and to also celebrate her new job at OCU. So, I have to get to the bar as quickly as possible. I hate having to rush to the bar..... no I don't.

So, I know this guy. He's really cool to hang with and we always have blast when everyone goes out. I mean everybody loves this guy. He's funny, he's..... well thats about it, just funny. But, whenever people call him to say we're all meeting up at someplace so why don't you come out, he never answers the phone so you have to leave him a message. Well, then he never calls back to even say he can't make it out or whatever. I figure if you have a cell phone, that means you would keep it with you so you could....oh....say, answer it! Its not just me either he hasn't called or talked to anyone I know thats tried to get a hold of him. I guess Scar is a pussy and just doesn't want to come play with us anymore... right Jamie? :)
Just giving you hell dude.

So, Melisa and I went to the Guthrie YMCA to do our daily routine after work and I couldn't help but notice what channel one of the TV's were on. I had noticed it before but thought nothing much of it until I saw that it was on another TV. Which means someone deliberately puts it on this specific channel. I'm talkin about the Food Network. In the damn YMCA??? Doesn't that just cause some sort of torturous temptation that will eventually defeat the purpose of even working out at the Y. They'll show stuff like the "Top Ten Ultimate Best Killer Bad Ass Chocolate Covered Cheesecakes with Double Fudge and Cream Cheese Icing". Yeah, good call. I'm going to Braum's after I excercise.
I have finally done it! I have figured a way to get the images from my new sweet phone up here to my site. I have set up the "slapdash" page for these images now. I think this will be my new favorite part of my site. The "poetry" section is where I will still basically have my soapbox sessions cuz its really hard to type a long story on a phone key-pad. Oh boy, I can't wait....and I know you can't either. You know why I know? Cuz I'm the knowingest guy in the know that knows no other.

It looks as if, what I call, the web ring/cult of sorts is growing. More people I meet have their own cool sites to visit. Hell I thought I was the only cool one. Kevin's almost there. Added to my bands today is: Bare Jr., Brandon Jenkins, Tesla, and Texas Jack. Added to my buddies is Ashly Brooke, Whitney & Co., and it seems I've totally forgotten to put Payne County Line on there. Sorry Stan! I'm sure I'll be adding to each of these lists again. It seem I usually have a lapse of memory every so often as I am reminded at random times of bands I've seen before. I think tomorrow I'm going to tackle the topic of Sammy vs. Dave in the Van Halen era.
Sunday I took a road trip to Ardmore to see some family. Mom is enclosing the back patio. Gonna be pretty cool. She didn't sound too excited when I suggested a couple of pinball machines to decorate the place. Here are some pics I took with my sweet new phone of the construction.

Then we went out to my step-sister and her husband's place. They bought the old Ardmore Rod and Gun Club. It was built at the turn of the century and they are restoring it to live in. Seriously, when you pull up to the house, it looks like some sort of mexican resort. Here are some pics.
The sweet projection TV.

The back patio.

Their front walkway to the lake.

Yeah, copper ceilings.

Kitchen faucet and those two big wood doors? Both are full size refigerators.

View from their second story bedroom window.

Guest bathroom.

The kitchen.

The controls to the stove. I swear its something out of monster house. If you press the right button combination, the stove transforms into a robot.

Front area.

View of the walkway leading to the back patio.

So, in case you haven't notcied, this house is completely bad ass. I didn't want to leave.

Friday night=video games. Saturday night=Texas Jack=rocked ass. Those boys hit it hardcore that night. Put on one helluva show. Originals kicked ass, but one song stood out in my mind. One song that made me forget the rest of the night cuz once they started playin' it. I partied my balls off. It is a band I usually yell out to other bands to play but I get no love. I finally got love when they pulled out Poison's Talk Dirty to Me. I can't remember the last time I got so excited about hearing a cover. Tuaca shots for everyone! Woohoo!!!.... what a blur. I am adding them to my "list of bands you better go see" on my site here. Well, that was it for Saturday. Should have pics up sometime today.

Well, I aint doin shit tonight. Just sit in front of the tv and play video games. Tomorrow night though, is Texas Jack at the Bricktown Dog. They kick ass. I'm excited to get to see a full set of theirs. Ellis Wagner Band is opening for them. Haven't caught them before but I've heard they're pretty good. So, I expect the congregation to be in full effect tomorrow night. Rock on....
Last night was pretty damn cool. Went to see ol Copeland at the Bricktown Dog last night. Very odd crowd to start off with. A bunch of guys in cowboy hats had a blow up doll. I didn't quite get it. I guess it could have been a bachelor party. If it was, then it was short lived. They all left before Scott even took the stage..... and left their plastic friend on the bar all marked on with a sharpie. Jake showed up after his opening gig for Brandon Jenkins at the Red Dirt and played a couple of tunes as well. He's got a new one called Sweet Abilene that rocked my balls. Oh yeah, and much to my dismay and/or excitement the Dog now has Tuaca ready to serve. I took some pics of the show with Kevin's camera and stole hid memory card so I can post pics. I should have them up sometime today. Rock.

Food for thought: I hate.... not really hate....more like I'm disappointed in people who can't separate personal from a professional relationship. When you tell someone something and no matter what your opinion is its wrong. I can take constructive criticism in my work. I may give someone hell bout it, but its all in good fun because I know them. I know other people have ideas I haven't thought of and I enjoy listeing to them. Oh well.... take the good with the bad.

So, I started mowing my lawn last night about 6:30. Didn't finish til 9:30. Had to finish with the porch light on. Even took a break to eat supper. Yeah. It has been over a month I'd say since I last mowed. Got five bags of grass. I hate mulching. It makes yards look like shit. Not that letting your yard go for a month makes it pretty.

Wow... one hell of a weekend. Started out Friday afternoon in Stillwater and went to Wormy Dog to deliver Badwater some shirts Then met up with Red Carrie, Joanna, Heather and a few other people at Mexico Joes for Carrie's farewell from C-Star gathering. After that we head on down to Bricktown Dog to catch Texas Jack and No Justice. Jake had called me earlier and said he was playing too but we didn't quite make it there in time. Texas Jack kicked ass. It was my first time to see them and I'm going to catch their show next Saturday as well. Both bands did really well and had a great crowd....blah blah blah. The next day started with a sweet hangover. Can't tell you how much I love that knowing I'm going to end up drinking again for The Stragglers. Melisa and I head back to Stillwater to listen to the OSU game. We end up at Willie's until Carrie calls us to get our ass over to their place. So we party there and listen to the rest of the game til its time to go to the Weed. The boys put on a really good show. They looked the best I've seen them in a while. Brad wasn't with them cuz he and Becky are about to have a little Rice any day now. Kevin did sit in with them this weekend however. It was really good to see him behind a kit again. Rock 'n' Roll Brother!!! The show lasted for about two hours but the party lasted a bit longer. We finally made it home around 4AM. Today? Well today I slept til 12:30, woke up, and played playstation all damn day. Didn't feel like doin' shit.....until now. I posted up pics of the weekend in the photos section. Be sure to take a peek at them. Some of the best I've taken.

Here's some music for all you kids. Go out and get Black Label Society The Blessed Hellride. Zakk's guitar licks are scrumtuluscious! Looks like Kevin is gonna sit in with The Stragglers tomorrow at the Weed for thier show. He's such a rock star. All you ladies will be impressed.

Oh, BTW, I'm a big ole fibber. I did NOT go see Split Lip Rayfield last night. We ended up going to Bricktown Dog again and hanging with Kevin, Robert and Eric. Everyone be prepared for Friday night there. No Justice and Texas Jack will be playing. We'll have a pretty good crew show up I believe. Excited about seeing Texas Jack for the first time. They better rock my nuts off!

My "supergeekness" is coming out this week. Cingular can finally carry GSM phones now. That means camera phones and sending and receiveing pictures and soon to be blogging from the phone like Matt can. My id is really taking over now cuz I really really really want the Sony Ericsson T616. I'm going to start dreaming of that phone cuz I'm so focused on it. That phone kicks so much ass but I have to come up with a hundred bucks to get it. Not a bad price really. Oh, did I mention its compatible with Apple's iSync software through Bluetooth. Yeah, all I'd have to do is set the phone next to my computer and do one click and all of my calendar and contact info is synchronized. Yeah, I've got to have that phone......by the end of next week.

Not much to talk about today. Been watching the OC on Fox, so I'm pretty excited about that tonight. I really need to mow my yard but I just don't feel like it. Still anxious to see Split Lip tomorrow at Mike's. They are always a party. I think I left out the "c" in hellascious yesterday. I started thinking more about the word and used my phoenetics dictionary/book/thing, and came to the conclusion it should have a "c". Oh well.
Monday, September 8, 2003
Well I finally got the pics up. Its been a hellasious day at work. Did I spell that right? hellasious? I don't think I've ever seen that word written out before. hmmmm. Oh well. Split Lip Rayfield is playin' at Mike's College Bar here in Stillwater on Wednesday. They kick some serious bluegrass ass. I think I'll go see them. Yeah thats it.

Well before I get out of here. I'll show you a peek of the Texas Jack designs I've been workin on.

Goin' to Orange Peel tonight here in Stillwater. Get to see Sinbad, Better Than Ezra, Ben Folds, and Bare Naked Ladies. Then tomorrow Reckless Kelly. Such is the life of a rock star. Everyone have a good weekend. Party.

Must be kharma. I started my iTunes playlist this morning and it went directly to Reckless Kelly. It must know that I'm going to see them tomorrow at the Bricktown Dog and wants me to get pumped up for the show. Well, its working.
Holy shit!!! OMG WTF???? Matt's baby is on the way. He took Shona to the hospital around 5:15 this morning! Keep watching badasswebsite.com for updates throughout the day!

Went to the Bricktown Dog again last night. Kevin, Andrew, and Chad played a little acoustic set. Had a great time there, but Eric introduced me to the guy thats runs the Green Door bar. So we mosey on down there after he tells us of a cool band who's playin' down there tonight. First of all, the Green Door has more live bands roll through there than any other bar in Oklahoma. Check out their calendar. Its more of the punk/rock type music there, so if you dig all types of music like I do, then this place rocks. The band that was playing last night was called Lucero. The only way I can describe their sound is luscious guitar licks. Like Bare Jr. meets Bush. All I can say is they kicked my ass. Great songwriting, great sound, I loved them. Saw on their calendar, they are playing a couple of gigs in Texas later on. Check them out if you can.
On another note, I made the slapdash page a random image generator. Just reload the page and you will see several different pics I've collected over time. Now, don't burn through them on the first visit. Try to look at them once or twice a day. Just trying to keep the fans coming back. I'll add more pics as I come across them. Some may be a touch on the gross/offensive side, so be aware. Don't have too many now. Another deal I have up now is the first download on the 'loads page! Its a desktop pic of yours truly and matt. Guess which one is holding the burrito. Yeah, I'll eat that Friday. Rock on.

Haven't had time to write much here lately. Been finishing up this site and doing designs for Badwater, Ellis Wagner Band and Texas Jack. Right now though, I'm enjoying my Owens sausage and biscuits. They kind of remind me of the Burger Buddies, Burger King used to have. Not many people remember those two little conjoined bite sized morsels. Anyways, I should have some pics of the Badwater, Macon Greyson and Robert Earl Keen show from last Friday at Red Dirt Cafe. One of the best Keen shows I've seen. Oh, and I've started the slapdash pics too.

So, I was watching the MTv VMA's last night and realized they are complete bullshit. I remember a time when they kicked ass. I guess that was time when muscians actually made vidoes. Nowdays, the Video Music Awards are nothing but the same four fuckin' videos were nominated in EVERY category. It was like the special olympics.... everyone got a medal. Such a travesty. The only award I considered even worthwhile was the Viewers Choice. I like that award because the nominees aren't picked by some beat-off committee who are in the marketing game. Guess who won? Good Charlotte. Rock n Roll. You know why? BECAUSE PEOPLE DON"T REALLY LISTEN TO THE OTHER BULLSHIT!...but I digress. Those guys were nominated for a couple of other things too but didn't win them. All the fuckin' winners were Justin, Eminem, and 50cent. MTv is apparently run by hip-hoppers. Now don't get me wrong, I like some of that stuff but I'm more of the old school type. I wish Evanescence would have won an award. Those guys kick complete ass.
On another scene, tonight Matt and I are going to the Red Dirt Cafe to catch Badwater and Robert Earl Keen. We need our Keen fix. Haven't seen him in a couple of years. Tomorrow we're headin' to the Bricktown Dog to watch the OSU game and drink ourselves sober. Then its pretty much open for the rest of the Labor Day weekend. Better check badasswebsite.comin a bit to see "Will I Eat It Friday?". Its gonna be good. Have a great one folks as I always have a mediocre one.
