A Nutty Week Recap

This last week was indeed nutty. From Dallas to Ardmore to Tulsa to Oklahoma City. We dropped Averly of at her Grammy's in Ardmore so we could head on down to the Chickenfoot show at the Nokia Theater in Grand Prairie. I love the Nokia Theater. Not a bad seat in the house. Super clean and well staffed. Wasn't too stoked about the $8 beers though. Oh well. Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam opened the show. They were amazing. Old school bluesy rock n roll. Then Sammy, Michael, Joe, and Chris came on stage and were the greatest rock n roll band in the world (sorry Supersuckers). After the show we headed back to Ardmore to catch some Z's. Woke up and headed to Pauls Valley to the Action Figure and Toy Museum. That was awesome. I wanted to stage my own battles with all the toys there. You can see the pics I took here. Wednesday we headed back to work and at 5, headed to Tulsa for the Stragglers' Don Williams Tribute. Crowd was a little scarce being a Wednesday evening. Was a good show though. May have enjoyed visiting with everyone I don't get to see often more than the show itself. We stayed at Tara's in Owasso for the night and headed back to work in Stillwater Thursday morning. After work, Mom, had brought Averly back to us in Guthrie. She was so excited to her mommy and daddy after two whole days! Friday was pretty much normal. Actually stayed at the house that evening. Saturday, we went on our now yearly trip to the State Fair. Black Stone Cherry was playing that evening and I gotta tell you, Averly loved it! We were standing toward the back where it was open and she was just running around dancing everywhere. Even had some people stop and say "You better watch it, you've got a little rocker on your hands." Awesome. Sunday, we met Melisa's folks at the Wildlife Expo at the Lazy E Arena. It gets bigger every year. Averly was still really too little to do anything, but next years its on! She did love the butterfly exhibit. She got to touch one for a bit before she got excited and acted like she was going to crush every one of them! One more year. Then she'll be able to go to shows at the fair and do all the activities at the expo. I can't wait.

I wonder if people understand....

1. The US Postal Service and Amtrak are nationalized/socialized businesses.

2. The Federal Reserve is a private bank.

3. Governments cannot survive without changing/adapting

4. Paying FICA is like a monarchy.

5. People that make issues out of non-issues are really annoying.

6. OSU is now a Top 5 Team and finally rated ahead of the Gooners!!! GO POKES!!!!

Alright Illustrator CS4....

Its just you and me now. Snow Leopard forced me into this (not really, but times/software are a changin'). You will obey my commands... whenever I customize my shortcuts. You will learn how to manage swatches like I do. You will learn how to "punch", "union", and "split" objects like I'm used to. You will learn how to work completely in spot colors and not just your generic CMYK BS. Its just you and me now kid. You're brother Photoshop I can handle enough. Its you you and your squirrelly little menus and commands that have been renamed and replaced. You say you're a master at gradients. We'll see how you fair when they are spot colors with custom halftones. Yeah, its on buddy. You're gonna be my bitch.
