Seems like some other people are also flashing back to old music. Digging through all my old tapes is nuts. I even found songs I recorded off the radio and MTV (yes I even had high tech gadgets in my youth). Anyone remember "The Boz" that was written for Brian Bozworth when he was at OU? Yeah I found that. The "Super Bowl Shuffle"? Got that one too. Just cuz our class recreated the video in 5th Grade. I was Mike Singletary.
I'm Samurai Mike I stop'em cold.
Part of the defense, big and bold,
I've been jammin' for quite a while,
Doin' what's right and settin' the style,
Give me a chance, I'll rock you good,
Nobody messin' in my neighborhood.
I didn't come here lookin' for trouble,
I just came to do The Super Bowl Shuffle
Wow, I still remember the lyrics. I even found a couple of 45's. Yes I started out with records before tapes. Paul Revere single from the Beastie Boys. Word. There's still a ton of unlabeled sweet mix tapes to go through. It will be interesting to say the least. I converted a couple more tapes to the computer last night. Bruce Dickinson's "Tattooed Millionaire" and Gorky Park's self titled. What's really cool is the tape hiss you still get when the song goes all quiet. I don't want that to go away cuz it takes me back. When I was growing up, I'd just sit in front of the stereo and listen for hours to albums I had. Fuck, I love music.
