Things I Learned on Our Trip:

1. Missouri would be beat up by surrounding states and disappear if it didn't have Branson. They advertise for that town more than any other....even KFC tray liners tell you to go there.

2. As soon as you leave Oklahoma and head east, people do not use or have cars with cruise control and left lane=fast lane does not apply. Oh and their cars don't have rear view mirrors because I swear they think no one is EVER behind them.

3. There are more Cracker Barrels and Steak & Shakes than you can shake a steak at out east.

4. You CAN have a traffic jam at 12:30am with 500,000 people.

5. Mass transit kicks ass.... for about an hour a day

6. Just because it says its an "air conditioned car" does not mean its cool.

7. Washington DC in July is not for overweight flat footed people.... namely me.

8. Everyone in DC has the same idea what and when to visit as you do.

9. Do not go to the Pentagon expecting to get a sweet picture and see really cool stuff.

10. East coast highways should be gold plated with all the tolls you pay.

11. I now understand the need for satellite radio and ipods.

12. New Jersey highways disappear and reappear at will without warning.

13. No one in New Jersey knows how to pump their own gas.

14. Cell phone service in New York is based on wind direction and velocity, barometric pressure, and the tides of the ocean.

15. It is impossible to have a "high speed" chase in New York City.

16. The Empire State Building is really really tall.

17. Tickets to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart actually DO NOT guarantee you entry into the show.

18. There are more flatfoot/tap dancers and less teeth per square foot in Floyd, VA in the Blue Ridge Mountains than anywhere on earth.

19. If Texas finds out the largest man made star is in Roanoke, VA, there would be a war for it.

20. Some kind of "redneck barrier" must be around Arkansas to keep them inside.

Well, thats all I had written down. There may be some more sometime if I can remember them but who knows....I may not want to remember them. Some pics of the trip should be up by the end of the week.
